Realtime Worlds’ failed crime MMO APB(All Points Bulletin) has been purchased by online games localization company K2 Network for around $2.4 million.

As GamesIndustry.biz reports, now that K2 (War Rock and 9 Dragons) owns the rights to APB, there’s a chance the failed online multiplayer game, which was officially shut down this past September after being live for less than three months, might be back up and running by year’s end. Whenever it does go live, it appears that APB will abandon its subscription/micro-transaction model in favor of free-to-play.

Around the same time Realtime Worlds killed APB, it sold its social media inspire virtual space Project MyWorld to Kimberly Operations, a company founded by several former Realtime Worlds’ directors. We haven’t heard anything about the project since then, but there are apparently a dozen or so Realtime devs still working on it, so perhaps something will come of it after all.
