All Guardians should look for high +physical defense bonuses as a first priority. We are a melee class and will always be taking hits, so physical defense as high as you can get is ideal. Magic defense is very nice to have as well, but is not really necessary until late game. By then, you can get full armor sets with great physical and magic defense from solo quests and then make them into a nice Edwin set.
