Realtime Worlds, which has only just released its MMO All Points Bulletin, is in trouble and now has a very uncertain future.

A tweet earlier today from Realtime employee Luke Haliwell said:

This was followed up by several further tweets telling us how a “bunch of random suits” had arrived followed by two tweets stating:

The reps are to help pick who gets to stay and keep APB alive…to be clear we are not getting paid.

Develop has since confirmed that the company has gone into administration, but that work is being done to save the US arm of the business and keep APB running.

The troubles Realtime faces are thought to be down to the poor performance of APB on release. Servers have remained quite empty, apb gold and the millions invested in the 5-year project therefore don’t look like they will see a return.

It’s now unclear what the future holds for both Realtime Worlds and APB, but players should for the moment be able to continue playing. It’s also very unlikely Project MyWorld will ever see a release unless an investor steps up to take on the project funding.
